What To Do With The Leftovers?

3 Smart Ways to Spend Your End of Year IT Budget

We all have leftovers this holiday season, but what is the smart thing to do with end of year leftovers in your IT Budget?

If you spend it wisely, you can look at this end-of-year spree as investment, not just tossing a chunk of change out the window so you don't lose out next year.

Let’s look at the budget money that’s left and the smart IT investments to spend it on.

1) License Renewals

This is a never-ending battle that doesn't always land on year's end. And renewing a license that isn't quite about to expire might not make sense. But here's the thing: If you have the money left over, you can do something that would be a massive help in keeping track of those licenses; renewing them all at the end of the year. When you do that, you will always know when those licenses are set to expire. One glance at the calendar and you know it's time to renew.

2) Maintenance Contracts

The end of year is a great time to check up on your hardware maintenance contracts. You want your equipment to be protected. So, it’s important to have all your maintenance and NBD replacement services in place. Maybe you can even have some money left to grab a few spares. The end of the year is a sensible time to get this in order.

3) Phones

Phones are always a good choice for end of year budgets, especially if your company is planning on adding new people. Even if you aren’t expecting a lot of growth, getting some handsets for the future isn’t a bad idea. Or you could possibly upgrade some phones, and use the older ones as spares (or get money for them).

It seems more and more IT professionals are being asked to do more with less. That can make the end of the year leftovers an excellent opportunity to help you be more prepared to take on the challenge in 2018!

EXTRA: That panini though... What a genius (and yummy) way to use those holiday leftovers! Find the recipie HERE and let us know if you liked it!
